One Year Later
I was finishing up my overnight shift and the TV I had tuned to CNN reminded me that today is the one year anniversary of the beginning of the U.S. incursion into Iraq. In a somewhat more sombre mood, I finished my shift and stepped outside with my camera, as something in the back of my head told me that it would be a good thing to have handy. With a little bit of meditation on concern for friends currently over in Iraq, and that situation in general in the back of my head, this is what the world showed to me and my camera. It started to piece itself together as a photo essay of sorts, kind of a reflection on the way that I was seeing things with all these other thoughts in the back of my head. What follows is the best of what I found myself with a while later, in chronological order.
Before you take a look at the pictures individually, please take a minute to digest them as a whole, in the order in which I saw them, by starting here and going through them as a slide show.
